Job description

Our client - a highly respected global giant within Financial Services – is currently seeking a Data Analytics professional to join their industry renowned Audit department.

The role is based in Surrey offering flexible hybrid working (1 day/week in the office, possibly less).

Your responsibilities
  • Identify, design, and develop data analytics extract routines to support audit activities.
  • Manage data extraction, storage, transformation, and processing, generating output for visualisation / analysis by the Audit Team.
  • Proactively collaborate with Internal Audit team members ensuring data analytics requirements in individual audits are assessed, understood and delivered on time.
  • Support the interpretation and presentation of analytics outcomes to relevant audit stakeholders.
  • Identify key data sources and build a data source library.
  • Aid in achieving Data Analytics (DA) strategy and the DA maturity target.
  • Build on relationship with key business stakeholders to identify appropriate data sources and data elements required for analytics testing in audits.
  • Utilise data analysis tools to automate audit testing and develop techniques for continuous auditing /evaluation.
  • Train and upskill members of the internal audit team in the use of Data Analytics and Microsoft Strategy, in addition to providing advanced training for data champions.
Skills & experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics/ statistics, computer science.
  • 2-5 years of relevant/recent data analysis experience in audit, data, risk management functions.
  • Working knowledge of data analytics techniques for audit work including data extraction, as well as scripting and visualization tools, e.g. Python, SQL, Power BI, Qlik, Alteryx, MicroStrategy, Advanced Excel.
  • Preferably Internal Audit background with exposure into advanced technologies.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, data-intuition, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in extraction and analysis of data from a wide variety of financial systems, leveraging data analysis tools.
