Job description
An established institutional real estate lending platform is seeking an accomplished Commercial Real Estate Originator to drive new lending opportunities across the US market.
This opportunity will appeal to an experienced debt professional with established sponsor and intermediary relationships, strong credit judgement and a demonstrable record of originating and closing commercial real estate transactions.
The platform provides financing across stabilised, transitional, bridge and construction lending, typically involving transactions of $15 million to $60 million.
Your responsibilities
- Originate commercial real estate mortgage opportunities through established borrower, sponsor, broker and mortgage banking relationships.
- Develop new lending relationships and build a sustainable transaction pipeline.
- Structure and evaluate financing opportunities across multiple property types and lending strategies.
- Lead transactions through initial assessment, underwriting, credit approval and closing.
- Present investment recommendations and transaction risks to internal credit and investment committees.
- Collaborate with underwriting, legal and portfolio management teams to execute transactions.
Skills & experience
- A strong track record of personally originating and closing institutional CRE loans.
- Established relationships with property owners, developers, sponsors and financing intermediaries.
- Experience across commercial mortgage lending, including transitional or construction financing.
- Excellent knowledge of loan structuring, underwriting, credit risk and transaction execution.
- The ability to independently source opportunities rather than relying exclusively on allocated deal flow.
- Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex transactions.
