Job description

Market-Leading Compensation, Assessed Individually - VP Real Estate Investments

What makes you an exceptional real estate credit investor?

The risks you spot? The terms you negotiate? The transactions you lead? The people you make better?

We want to hear what sets you apart.

Auricoe is inviting confidential conversations with outstanding real estate credit professionals interested in joining a European investment team within an established global investment manager.

The business continues to raise capital and invest in its people, technology and investment capabilities. It is selective about hiring and open to individuals who can make a meaningful contribution.

A platform to build your career

The investment remit spans whole loans, mezzanine, development finance and preferred equity across residential, commercial, alternative and operational real estate.

The team combines disciplined investment judgement with proprietary technology, embedded data science and the resources of a global organisation.

There is scope to develop your contribution around your strengths across origination, pricing and structuring, or execution, alongside colleagues with complementary expertise.

You can explain the decisions you personally owned, the risks you identified and how your judgement improved an investment.

Your responsibilities
  • Originate opportunities: build sponsor and adviser relationships, identify attractive lending opportunities and assess their fit with investment strategy.
  • Own execution: lead investment assessment, underwriting, due diligence, negotiations and closing, coordinating directors, advisers and legal colleagues.
  • Exercise credit judgement: analyse property fundamentals, borrower strength and downside risks, translating your conclusions into appropriate pricing, structures, covenants and security protections.
  • Influence investment decisions: present clear recommendations to investment committee, defend your reasoning and respond constructively to challenge.
  • Stay accountable beyond closing: work with asset management colleagues to monitor investment performance, identify emerging risks and support effective responses.
  • Lead upwards and downwards: keep senior colleagues informed, escalate issues early, review junior colleagues’ work and help others develop their technical skills and investment judgement.
  • Leading underwriting, due diligence, negotiation and execution of complex property debt transactions.
  • Translating property, borrower and downside analysis into clear investment recommendations and robust financing terms.
  • Presenting to investment committee, defending your reasoning and responding thoughtfully to challenge.
  • Building sponsor and adviser relationships that generate attractive lending opportunities.
  • Working with asset management colleagues to understand and manage risk beyond closing.
  • Reviewing junior colleagues’ work, developing their judgement and helping the team perform.
Skills & experience
  • Relevant experience may come from real estate credit investing, institutional property lending, investment banking or principal investing with meaningful credit exposure.
  • Approximately 5–8 years’ relevant experience is a guide. Demonstrated capability and leadership matter more than tenure or title.
  • UK, US or European property knowledge.
  • Exceptional Senior Associates already demonstrating readiness for VP responsibility are encouraged to apply.
  • Ambitious for yourself. Committed to the team.
  • You take ownership, communicate early and support colleagues when it matters.
  • You combine technical depth with sound commercial judgement. You are curious about technology, receptive to better ways of working and adaptable as markets evolve.
  • You want to earn greater responsibility, develop as an investor and contribute to the long-term success of a business.
  • At VP level, that means demonstrating leadership both upwards and downwards: giving senior colleagues confidence while helping junior colleagues improve.
Salary & benefits

Compensation is negotiable and considered individually, reflecting experience, capability and the contribution you could make.

London office attendance is the normal working arrangement, with flexibility when personal circumstances require it.
